How to put the verse of the day on your iPhone

A widget is the easiest way to read one verse a day: it's there every time you pick up your phone. Here's how to add one to your Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy.

On your Home Screen

  1. 1

    Enter edit mode

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle, then tap Edit (or +) in the top corner.

  2. 2

    Add a widget

Tap Add Widget and search for Ankyra.

  3. 3

    Pick a size

Swipe to choose small, medium or large, then tap Add Widget.

  4. 4

    Place it and tap Done

Drag it where you want it. The verse changes every day on its own, and you can tap Amen right from the widget.

On your Lock Screen

Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then Lock Screen. Tap the widget area under the clock and choose Ankyra. Now the verse is there before you even unlock your phone.

In StandBy

StandBy turns on when your iPhone is charging, locked and on its side. Swipe to the widgets view, touch and hold, tap + and add Ankyra. It's a quiet way to end and start the day by your bed.

On Apple Watch

Ankyra's Apple Watch app shows the verse, Today in brief and your streak, with complications for your watch face. You can also ask Siri for the “Verse of the day” and it reads it to you.
